Our athlete development group is for youth that have passed their growth spurt and are ready to lift with more loading/weights at the gym. This is for school year 10+
Future athletes
This session is tailored to kids who are focused on their sport and want to hit their goals. These are children who are going through their growth spurt or just on either side. (year 7 8 and 9)
Everyday Athletes
We apply the same principles in our everyday athlete’s group but this group is suited to kids who want less structure and more of a play and exploration component.
The cost is $150 for term 2.
By allowing our youth athletes to be an integral part of their training and how they are coached, establishing what they want to get out of the gym and their sport and what is their motivation we will have a much greater chance of retaining our youth in sport. If we listen to them and meet their goals and motivations, we allow them to take ownership and understanding of their training and sport, ultimately leading to greater enjoyment.
We have a range of awesome options for kids and youth with options for those with dreams of the Olympics through to those who want to have movement as part of their daily life, or even those who struggle with coordination and don't like sport! Our goal is to put your child in the right place for them so that they walk away happy and having a great time!
We were so fortunate to have partnered with Dr Craig Harrison in 2018. Craig developed the Auckland University of Technology Athlete Development programme which has been rolled out across Auckland in schools and gyms. Craig is not only New Zealand’s most qualified academic in youth athlete development, he also leads the Athlete Development Project, is an international speaker and researcher and continues to mentor and consult to AUT Millennium Sport centre in Auckland. Our team is constantly upskilling under Craig’s mentorship ensuring we are providing the best coaching to benefit the kids not only physically but also for their psychological and social development. The results we have since starting the programme in 2008 are incredible. Regardless of which of our focused programmes that you chose for your child these philosophies underpin the session.
Our programmes are not just for athletes wanting to gain long term sporting success! We use the term athlete to describe all children that want to improve and enjoy being active and moving. We have kids from all movement backgrounds - those that are pursuing a specific goal to those who are not involved in any formal sport and need help with coordination and movement. Our fundamental philosophy is about proving an environment that not only offers amazing coaching but is supportive where kids become autonomous, connected and love coming back.

Future athletes-Girls
We also have a girls-only future athletes session. We focus on positive body image, confidence building and getting fitter and stronger along the way.
